HUMSSync

Harmony with Dance

What is HUMSSync?

HUMSSync aims to promote the movement which advocates to educate and encourage students to dance. And that through dancing, an active and much more healthier life style could be achieved for the students. And to also discourage the on going issue of getting addicted with the use of mobile devices. Our aim is to show the great effect in which dancing can produce towards the students who are always on their phones. And that gradually, they may also develop a healthier, active, and sociable lifestyle compared to being glued on their mobile devices.

The Effects of Dancing

IMG_4834.PNG

Before our practices for the zumba and ballroom dances. It was observed that our fellow classmates were constantly on their phones or mobile devices. Hunched, endlessly scrolling, and hours would pass by. They were rarely socializing! They were constantly isolating themselves from other people in order to spend more time on their phones. Research has shown self-isolation that you may develop health problems in the long run like: heart diseases, cognitive decline, and it may even take a toll on your mental well-being like depression. Now that's something you don't want.

After and during our practices although our classmates were reluctant at first, they were slowly enjoying dancing and also interacting with one another. Helping each other with steps that one may find difficult and laughing when they couldn't perform a step correctly made it much more enjoyable for them. It was also observed that they spent less time on their phones and were more socially active than ever, they sometimes talk to one another and even talk to other classmates that they haven't interacted with before.

In Conclusion

Dancing does make a difference on an active lifestyle and an inactive lifestyle not only does it help physically but also mentally. So you should try it! Dancing doesn't only make you healthier, but it is a very fun hobby in which you can learn!
